Sugarcane Ventures is proud to be the purveyors of change by launching Miami’s first social impact fund & incubator exclusively by Caribbean women for Caribbean women founders & creators at the intersection of culture, technology, creativity, and consciousness. An aggressive past due initiative founded and driven by four powerful and dynamic women, all with Caribbean roots who have recognized the need of the large cross-section of female Caribbean entrepreneurs who are underrepresented and unrecognized when it comes to financing their businesses.
Sugarcane Ventures is a new type of VC fund uniquely designed to bolster the rich and far-reaching entrepreneurial and creative potential of women of the Caribbean region and its US diaspora by providing coaching, connections, and capital. This niche-fund is fashioned to identify ambitious founders where others see the impossible – to democratize female wealth creation by investing in thought-leaders and ideas that will create the global markets of the future across financial, intellectual, spiritual, human, emotional and social sectors.

The “Sugarcane” name takes inspiration from a crop harvested across the Caribbean as farm & factory, bared massive profits & wealth for Europeans while enslaving the locals. 2021, the power of harvesting Sugarcane embodies a bold new narrative – Caribbean Women Rise – elevates & empowers women from those same geographical regions that in the past profited from their labor of the Sugarcane crop fields.

Sugarcane Ventures is a Caribbean women owned pre & early-stage venture firm & incubator on a mission to change the ecosystem of entrepreneurship by investing in underrepresented Caribbean women founders & creators over the next 10 years. The reality seems bleak when few Afro-Caribbean women are in positions where they can directly invest into their communities.… We differentiate ourselves from the steady drumbeat of new emerging funds by investing exclusively in ambitious Caribbean Women at the center of this investment strategy as the investors and target founders. We invest exclusively in ambitious 1st, 2nd & 3rd generation Caribbean female-founded companies and dynamic creators who deliver positive, transformational change across every aspect of society and the economy. We aim to build category-winning creators and sector-defining companies predisposed towards impact, growth, and innovation with disruptive solutions that can improve lives and take into account the needs of women across the US & Caribbean Islands.

Sugarcane Ventures aims to lead by collective community execution by allocating 25% of its investment to women founders residing across the Caribbean Islands region. SugarCane’s Caribbean founding team understands the region’s culture and see’s the Caribbean as a value investor’s dream region – Changing the face of venture capital will transcend borders and has the power to affect change … and close racial, gender income, and wealth gaps in key US Immigration cities (such as Miami) and has the power to transform Caribbean communities domestically and abroad. We envision the evolution of the Sugarcane Ventures ecosystem into a Caribbean women’s consortium global platform, serving as an activation mechanism for new venture formation that fosters intra-Carib regional business linkages and strengthening the entrepreneurship bridge to the Caribbean Islands for impact investing, creator’s commodity, and social commerce, where women own their ideas, narratives, works, and economic security

SugarCane Ventures is on a mission to celebrate female-led stories and invest in developing and breaking new talent for underrepresented Caribbean women creators who are changing the narrative. Content has the ability to amplify global perspectives and change the world & this community of writers, directors, producers, and actresses does not have the same access, resources,… & opportunities to create stories and see them come to life. Their stories are simply not being told, and their voices are not being heard. Creators are the new commodity and the Sugarcane incubator will provide talented, and brilliant people with the resources to fund a path to micro-business creator success.
